Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Busher ("the App") handles information in connection with your use of the App. The App is developed and published by the developer identified in the App Store listing ("we," "us," or "our").

We do not operate user accounts, and we do not collect, store, or process personal data on any server that we control. This policy explains what information the App uses, where it is processed, and how it is handled.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, and the App does not contain functionality to collect:

• Your name, email address, or any other contact information
• Account credentials of any kind
• Advertising identifiers
• Analytics or usage tracking data
• Data for cross-app or cross-site tracking, as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework

The App does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits.

3. Information Processed on the Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device, using Apple's standard on-device storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and, where noted, an App Group shared with the App's widget extension):

This data is not transmitted to us or to any third party. It is accessible only to the App and its widget extension on your device, and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App.

4. Location Data

With your explicit, revocable permission, the App uses your device's location (via Apple's Core Location framework, "When In Use" authorization only) for the following purposes:

• Determining and sorting nearby stops by distance
• Estimating walking time and distance to a stop or destination

Nearby stops are found and sorted on your device. When you ask for walking, driving or bus directions, or search for a place, the start point (your location, if you choose it) and your search text are sent to Apple through MapKit to calculate the route or find the place (see 5.2). Your location is never transmitted to us, never sent to any server we operate, and not stored beyond the immediate calculation. The App does not request "Always" location authorization and does not collect location data in the background.

You may disable location access at any time, either within the App's Settings screen or via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. The App remains functional with location access disabled; stops are listed without distances instead.

5. Third-Party Services

The App communicates with the following third-party services in order to function:

5.1 CityBus (rest.citybus.gr, irakleio.citybus.gr)
The App retrieves live vehicle arrival data, stop information, and published timetables from CityBus, the public telematics service used by Heraklion's urban bus operator (Astiko KTEL Irakleiou). The App is not affiliated with either. Requests to this service contain only the technical parameters required to fulfil them (for example, a stop code or line code) and do not include any information that identifies you as an individual. Because the App requests live arrivals for the stop nearest to you, CityBus can, like any web server, see the requested stop code together with your device's IP address.

5.2 Apple Maps / MapKit
The App uses Apple's MapKit framework to display maps, to search for places and addresses, and to calculate walking and driving directions. For these requests Apple receives the search text or the route's start and end points. Use of this framework is subject to Apple's own privacy practices, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third parties beyond the manner in which the App interacts with them as described above.

6. Notifications and Live Activities

Departure alert notifications, Live Activities, and Dynamic Island updates are scheduled and delivered locally on your device through Apple's notification and ActivityKit frameworks. The App does not operate a push notification server, and no data related to these features is transmitted to us.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Because the App does not transmit personal data to a server under our control, there is no server-side data for us to retain or delete. All data described in Sections 3 and 4 resides solely on your device and is removed automatically when the App is uninstalled. You may also remove favourites and clear recent searches from the App's Settings screen.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, for the reasons set out above.

9. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. As described in Section 2, we do not collect personal data in the first instance.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete such data. Because the App does not hold personal data on any server we control, these rights are exercised directly on your device: uninstalling the App, or using the App's own settings, removes the locally stored data described in Section 3.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or in applicable law. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" above and published at this same location. Continued use of the App following such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
